Purple Hull Jelly

Purple Hull Jelly, has a grape\mayhal taste and very easy to make:

  • 1 pack pectin (I used sure jell)
  • 4 cups juice from boiling hulls
  • 5 cups sugar
  • 5 jelly jars and lids

Peel and wash purple hulls, then put them in a pot with about 5 cups of water and boil until hulls are tender, about 20 or 30 minutes. Take out the hulls and strain the juice, i poured mine through my coffee filter and let it fall in my coffee pot until I had 4 cups

Bring liquid to boil then add pectin. Return to boil and add 5 cups sugar and boil for 15 minutes.

Pour into jars, wipe rims and tighten lids. Makes about 5 smaller jelly jars. I put a little aside to try.
